Great Expectations
I have somewhat neglected the blog since the draw away to Cork over the Easter period. That isn’t to say there hasn’t been plenty happening on and off the pitch at the Brandywell. To paraphrase Dickens, according to some City fans it has been the best of times and the worst of times.

It was no surprise that Connor Sammon and Stephen Kenny both referred to the late goal in Cork as “the winner”. Whilst this was an inadvertent slip of the tongue, it encapsulated the feelings of players and supporters alike. Having embarked on an 800 mile round trip, to nick a point in the last minute is akin to a winner.

City recover
At the end of the season it will merely be three points on the points tally, but there was no doubt there is extra satisfaction gained from three points gained from the North West derby. Linfield win again!

Week 1: 3 Goals, 3 points. Surely all's well?
An away win in Dublin is always a pleasing outcome, but Friday night's victory had a strange feel to it. The new surroundings in the Belfield Bowl had something to do with it, but as yet I'm still not sure what it was.
